HOW TO UPDATE

How To Update Your FAX/MFC Firmware

  1. Select the folder with the model number of your FAX/MFC from the Us-can or Others folder.
  2. Double click on the downloaded program and follow the on screen instructions to extract the files.
    Press "Unzip" at the start of the extract program, then press "Close" when the extract is completed. The files will be extracted in your specified directory or in "C:/Brtemp/Brmfud" as a default.

    Note:The model number "MFC8700" will vary depending on the file name that you downloaded.

  3. Double click on the "setup.exe" file in the extracted files.

  4. The following screen will appear on your display screen.
    Please read the Note and click "Next".

  5. Click "Next".

  6. Click "Next".

  7. Downloading of the first file will start. During the firmware upgrade, the FAX/MFC buzzer will intermittently sound. This is normal during the download process.

  8. When the first file is finished downloading the following screen will appear. Please unplug the FAX/MFC power cord and then reconnect the power cord. [DO NOT unplug your PC]. And click "Next".

  9. After you unplug and reconnect the power of FAX/MFC, the LCD will not display anything for a few minutes. Then the FAX/MFC buzzer will sound again and the LCD will display "COMPLETED FIRST HALF". After you confirm that indication, please click "Next".

  10. Downloading of the second file will start. It will take a few minutes until you see the red bar on the screen. During the firmware upgrade, the FAX/MFC buzzer will intermittently sound.

  11. When the downloading of the second file is finished, the following screen will appear. Please unplug the FAX/MFC power cord and then reconnect the power cord. [DO NOT unplug your PC]. And click "Next".

  12. Your update process is all finished. Please confirm that your firmware is updated correctly by pressing the "[Function] / (Menu)" key and then the "[Enlarge] / (Reduce)" key continuously for 2 seconds.
    If "LAN OK..." is indicated on the LCD of the FAX/MFC, the firmware update is completed. Please click "Finish" to exit the program.
