HOW TO INSTALL


  1. Uninstall Old Drivers

    1. Click on the Start Menu then Programs.
    2. Point to "Brother MFL..." and then click on Uninstall.
      e.g

    3. Follow the instructions on screen to uninstall the software and drivers.


  2. How to download and install new drivers

    For Windows9x/Me/2000 Users

    For Windows NT4.0 Users

    For Windows3.1 Users




    Windows9x/Me/2000


    1. Make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded self-extracting file (e.g., C:\brodrv).
    2. Click "DOWNLOAD" to start downloading.
    3. Select the temporary directory where you want to store the downloaded file.
    4. Extract the file by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    5. Connect the PC to the MFC using either a parallel cable or a USB cable.
    6. Restart Windows. The installation screen will appear.
    7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    8. When the installation is finished, restart Windows again.



    Windows NT4.0


    1. Make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded self-extracting file (e.g., C:\brodrv).
    2. Click "DOWNLOAD" to start downloading.
    3. Select the temporary directory where you want to store the downloaded file.
    4. Extract the file by double-clicking the downloaded file.
    5. Install the driver on the server first, then duplicate the driver on the client PCs.
      (We strongly recommend that a server and a client PC use the same version driver.)

    1. Click [Start], [Settings], [Printers] and [Add Printer]. (Follow the instructions on the screen.)
    2. Select [My Computer], and then click [Next].
    3. Select the Port you will use (we recommend using LPT1), and then click [Next].
    4. Click [Hard disk], and then type the directory where the extracted files were placed (e.g., C:\brodrv).
    5. Click [OK].



    Windows3.1


    1. Make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded self-extracting file ( e.g., C:\brodrv).
    2. Click "DOWNLOAD" to start downloading.
    3. Select the temporary directory where you want to store the downloaded file.
    4. Extract the file by double- clicking it to automatically place the file in a new folder, such as "w3x" if you are Windows 3.1 user.
    5. Double-click the "setup.exe" file in the directory "w3x/mflpro/drivers/disk" that was created in Step 4.
    6. The installation of the drivers will begin.
    7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    8. When the installation is finished, restart Windows.
