Driver upgrade for Windows ® 2000
IMPORTANT!
Please follow the steps below:
- Uninstall the current driver.
- Install the new driver.
1. Uninstall
For Windows® 95/98 users
If you are upgrading to Windows® 2000 from Windows® 95/98, we recommend
that you first delete the existing printer driver from your system before
performing the upgrade.
Once you have completed the upgrade to Windows® 2000, you may then install
the Windows® 2000 printer driver.
To delete the Windows® 95/98 driver perform the following steps:
- Select the "Uninstall" option within the program group that was
created when you originally installed the Brother driver software.
- Select the correct language you want.
- Select the "Uninstall" option.
- Select the correct printer and then click the Uninstall button.
- Click the OK button when you see "the printer driver has been removed
from your system" message.
- Restart your computer.
For Windows NT ®4.0 users
If you are upgrading to Windows® 2000 from Windows NT® 4.0, you must first delete the existing printer driver from your system before performing the upgrade.
Once you have completed the upgrade to Windows® 2000, you may then install the
Windows® 2000 printer driver.
To delete the printer driver from Windows NT® 4.0, perform the following steps:
- Select the "Uninstall" option within the program group that was created when you originally installed the Brother driver software.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Restart your computer.
2. Download & Install
To upgrade the new printer driver to Windows® 2000,
perform the following steps:
Windows® 2000 ( Using SETUP.EXE )
- Please make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded
self-extracting file.
e.g. C:\brodrv
- Click the model name to start downloading.
- Select the temporary directory as where to store the downloaded file.
- Extract the file.
Double click on the file in Explorer, or click [Start], select [Run]. Then
type the temporary
directory and the file name (C:\brodrv\setup.exe). Then choose OK button.
- Install the upgrade driver.
