About downloading ActiveX:

Q1. I cannot download ActiveX.

A. Please refer to “How to install ActiveX” for detailed help.

Q2. I installed the ActiveX control but when I click on the Select Layout option I get this message:

A. Please refer to “How to install ActiveX” for detailed help on how to modify your security settings.

Q3. I have successfully installed ActiveX control but still nothing loads in my browser window.

A. You'll need to reinstall the ActiveX controls and delete the temporary internet files to get it working.

Step 1: Delete the Brother CreativeCentre folder from C:\Program Files. This will remove all ActiveX controls related to the site.

Step 2: Download and reinstall the ActiveX controls by the following link:

Step 3: Delete temporary Internet files:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
  2. On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.
  3. Click Delete files, and then click Yes.
  4. Click Close, and then click OK.
Now re-launch your browser and use the Brother CreativeCentre.

Q4. What browsers and Operating Systems I need if I wanted to use the Brother CreativeCentre?

A. In order to use the Brother CreativeCentre, you need to have one of the following versions of browsers and operating systems on your computer:

For Windows

Browser Version OS
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher Windows 2000 / Windows XP / Windows Vista
Firefox 1.5 or higher Windows XP / Windows Vista

For Mac

Browser Version OS
Firefox 1.5 or higher Mac OS X 10.4
Safari 1.4 or higher Mac OS X 10.4
Q5. What is IE 6.0 or higher?

A. IE 6.0 or higher refers to your internet browser. In order to use the Brother CreativeCentre, your internet browser should be Internet Explorer 6.0 or later version for Windows, Safari 1.4 or later version for Mac and Firefox 1.5 or later version.

About starting the project:

Q6. How can I open the templates?

A. Please click on "Start Here!" on the preview page.

Q7. I cannot open the editable template.

A-1. Make sure you have the latest ActiveX controls installed. Please refer to "How to install ActiveX" for detailed help.

A-2. If you have already installed ActiveX, please refresh the window by clicking on "refresh" on your internet explorer toolbar. Then try to open the template again.

Q8. When I select the layout and start working on the project, I see the "Downloading" status bar. What is that? What is being downloaded?

A. The editable template is made up of graphic elements which are collected into a zip file. This file is being placed on your computer when you start working on a project. The location of the zip file is C:/Documents and Settings/USERNAME/Application Data/Brother CreativeCenter/contents.

Q9. Will this zip file contain any viruses or other elements that could damage my computer?

A. The zip file will not cause any harm to your computer, nor will it affect your operating system in any way.

Q10. Can I delete the zip file after I'm finished with the project?

A. Yes, you can certainly delete the file, but please note that if you want to use the same design again in the future, the same zip file will be placed on your computer again.

Q11. How can I get rid of one image that I added and replace it with another?

A-1. Just add more images to your image library and replace the ones you don't want.

A-2. Click the undo symbol.

Q12. I don't know how to edit or use the template.

A. Refer to "Basic Functions" for detailed help.

Q13. How can I add my friends' birthdays to the calendar?

A. Refer to the "Calendar" instructions under "Advanced Functions" for detailed help.

Q14. I cannot print the template correctly.

A-1. Make sure your PC is connected to the Brother printer/MFC you selected.

A-2. Check "Print Setup" on "Print at Home" page or the properties of your printer.

Q15. I saved my project, but when I wanted to open it again, I couldn't find the file. Where did it go?

A. Check "My Pictures" folder on your PC to locate your saved project. In case your saved file is not in the My Pictures folder, check the Brother CreativeCentre application to see what the default folder is.

A. Try to refresh the screen by clicking on your browser's refresh button.

Q2. How can I print the PDF file?

A. Please select File| Print.

Q3. I cannot print the template correctly.

A-1. Please make sure that your PC is connected to the Brother printer /MFC you selected.

A-2. Please check the properties of your printer.

Q4. How can I try Sudoku (or Kakuro)?

A. Please refer to "Sudoku" (or "Kakuro") instructions.
