HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND VERSION UP

Personal Computer Control Models

1. Make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded self-extracting file. e.g. C:\temp
2. Click the language to start downloading.
3. Select the temporary directory as where to store the downloaded file.
4. Extract the downloaded file.
Double-click on the file in Explorer, or click [Start], select [Run].
Then type the temporery directory and the file name (C:\temp\xxxx.exe).
Then choose OK button.

If you have not finished to install Brother Embroidery System yet, please go ahead to the instruction 8., after that back to 5. And it is not necessary for you to perform next 6,7 and 8 instruction.
5. Upgrading the EPROM on the machine.
a. Turn on your Embroidery Machine.
b. Start your BROTHER EMBROIDERY SYSTEMS .
c. Click on the TOOL menu.
d. Click on VERSION UPGRADES.When you move the mouse over to version upgrades another menu will pop out from the right of the words 'version upgrades'. From this new menu you will continue this process.
e. Click on 2. MAIN.
f. You will be prompted for a password, enter the password.
g. You will be then asked 'UPGRADE MAIN PROGRAM ?'.
h. Click on OK.
i. An 'OPEN' dialog box will appear.
j. Click on the 'drop down arrow' to the right of 'LOOK IN'.
k. Click on the temporary directiory and appears like the picture below.

  l. Click on the yellow folder named VERUP.
m. Click on the file name 0901EM-511.bup in the folder "BE0901E(PC)" when operating BE-0901E-AC.
In case of BE-1201B-AC, file name is 1201BM-511.bup in the folder "BE1201B(PC)".
n. Click on OPEN.
o. The machine should now begin to beep(except when updating Slave and Master) and the status will be displayed on the screen in the location where normally the total stitches and number of stitches sewn is displayed.

p. When it is completed, press the STOP button on the machine control panel.
q. Repeat all the procedures from 'c' to 'p' until you have upgraded all EPROMs.

Special Note: It is very important that you perform all upgrades in the proper order 1-4 and remember to press the STOP button on the machine control panel. To upgrade all EPROMs, Select "Incremental(1-4)". When you have finished upgrading all 5 EPROMs, shut off the machine and turn it on again.
7. Uninstall the previous version.
  • Click on the START button.
  • Click on SETTINGS.
  • Click on CONTROL PANEL.
  • Click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon.
  • From the list provided, click on BROTHER EMBROIDERY SYSTEM to highlight it.
  • Click on ADD/REMOVE,once the unistalling is completed.
  • Click on OK.
8. Reboot the computer.
  • Click on START.
  • Click on SHUTDOWN.
  • Choose RESTART.
  • Click on OK.
9. Install the software.
Double-click on the file(set-up exe.) in Explorer. Or click [Start] in Windows, choose [Run], type [SET UP], and then press the OK button. e.g. C.\temp\setup.
