FY2007 topics and targets

•Efforts were made to improve and standardize the quality of parts by providing and sharing key technologies, know-how and knowledge of the Brother Group with suppliers under the New BPS (Brother Production System).

•These efforts were geared for suppliers to improve themselves by meeting group-demanded standards, which we hope will make them think in the long run that it was “good to work with Brother.”

Penetrating and rooting CSR Procurement for the mutual growth of everyone

The Brother Group introduced “CSR Procurement” in FY2008 as a part of CSR management.  CSR Procurement comes in addition to our ongoing “green procurement” practices, and requires of suppliers a wide range of matters to consider, including human rights, occupational safety and health, fair trade, business ethics, information security, consumer protection and social contributions.  CSR Procurement is a worldwide trend that we understand will help businesses to avoid social risks and increase opportunities to gain new customers through its penetration and rooting.  It is an opportunity for Brother and our partners to aim in a direction that will mutually enhance corporate strengths and growth.
