The Nagoya – the Evolution of the Japanese City Exhibition will show the history of the City of Nagoya from the Edo period (1603~1867) to the present at the Wien Museum,
a sister museum of Nagoya City Museum. Brother products will be showcased in the exhibition area that introduces Nagoya as the manufacturing city that has flourished in recent times.
The exhibition will illustrate how Nagoya developed into a city of manufacturing industry, starting at the end of the Meiji period (1867~1912), as production of exported products expanded there.
In addition to the sewing machines developed at the beginning of Showa period (1926~1989), Brother will exhibit its very first made-in-Japan typewriter,
which was developed as an export item, and the Electronic Personal Printer, which was released in the early 1980s and was the machine that began the company’s word processor development.
